Dr. Madison Disson
Key West roots.
Expert orthopedic care.
Born and raised in Key West, Dr. Madison Disson returned home with a clear purpose: to bring a higher standard of individualized, evidence-based physical therapy back to the community that shaped her.
Madison Disson, PT, DPT, OCS, is a born-and-raised Key West conch whose roots run as deep as the island itself. She left home with purpose, driven to pursue her education and elevate her clinical expertise, always knowing that her journey would lead her back.
For Dr. Disson, leaving the island was never about leaving it behind. It was about gaining the knowledge, experience, and perspective necessary to return home and give back to the very community that shaped her. She believes there is truly no place like home, and that conch pride is something you carry with you wherever you go.
Built on advanced orthopedic expertise.
Dr. Disson earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Nova Southeastern University–Tampa and her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a minor in Public Health from the University of South Florida.
She went on to complete an accredited Orthopedic Residency at Nova Southeastern University–Fort Lauderdale and achieved board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy through ABPTS, demonstrating her commitment to clinical excellence and the highest standard of care.
A results-driven approach to care.
Over the past five years, Dr. Disson has practiced in a cash-based setting, where she refined a results-driven, patient-centered approach that blends evidence-based rehabilitation with performance-focused training.
She is known for creating highly individualized plans of care that go beyond symptom relief, helping patients build strength, resilience, and confidence so they can return not just to daily life, but to the activities that define them.
Educator, clinician, and lifelong learner.
Her experience as an Adjunct Professor in the Nova Southeastern University Physical Therapy Program further strengthened her ability to break down complex concepts, enhance patient understanding, and deliver more effective outcomes.
In addition, her role with OCS Final Frontier, where she develops educational content and exam materials, reflects her dedication to staying at the forefront of the profession.
Coming home with purpose.
Dr. Disson’s decision to return home was both intentional and purpose-driven. The years spent away were instrumental in shaping her as a clinician, allowing her to bring back a level of skill, knowledge, and vision that made Salt & Motion Physical Therapy a reality.
Built on the foundation of high-quality, one-on-one care, her mission is to provide the Key West community with a different standard of physical therapy. One that prioritizes individualized treatment, long-term results, and building the strength and capacity needed for the sport of life.
At Salt & Motion Physical Therapy, patients can expect a collaborative, empowering experience where their goals are the priority and their care is never one-size-fits-all. Dr. Disson is committed to helping each individual move better, feel stronger, and live without limitations.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, spoiling her two cats, being out on the water, soaking up the Florida sunshine, and maintaining her own physical fitness.
